The guy comes across as kind of a douche, but some of his comments are spot on. When compared with books or film, the vast majority of video game stories are pretty shit. As much as I love Mass Effect, if a book had been written exactly the same as the game, I would have put it down without finishing.

Light a torch for Insomniac. It's sad to see them turn to shit so quickly, but I'm sure that FUSE will be the final nail in the coffin.

Christ, what is so hard about reading the flipping article? It clearly states in the article that it's based on trophies/achievements.

I'm not sure it really matters. Kingdom Hearts lost any sort of relevancy to me a good 4 years ago or so.

They're trying too hard. The game was good, but not that good.

That's about right. I love Heavenly Sword and Enslaved, but Ninja Theory has such a problem blaming their fans for how their games under perform. I have a hard time feeling sorry for them at all.

There's a horrible lack of Journey in this article.

If I could I would literally carve a 10 foot tall "+1" out of stone and give it to you.

I don't know how many times I've tried telling people that the only thing keeping video games from being considered an "art form" is the industry's very own business models.

@sjaakiejj

The Pilot episode for Lost cost $12 million. For an episode of a regular drama series that doesn't really require an effects budget it would cost between 1.5 millon - 2 million dollars. Not considering the logistical issues of filming another episode of a tv show, I find it incredibly hard to believe that a 10 minute DLC would cost anywhere near the production budget of the Pilot for Lost.

I really don't see what all the fuss is ab...

Regardless if it locks out used games or not, I won't be buying Microsoft's next console because of the 4 Xbox 360's I had to go through in as many years. Also, because they're trying to turn it into a motion controlled cable box with a dearth of games.

Yes, actually. People complain and demand changes all the bloody time! Many, many artists decide to use that fan feedback to change their works. Hell, Mozart himself changed some of his pieces in response to audience criticism. Plenty of subsequent editions of books have been altered to changed because of fans' reactions. You seriously have never heard of anything like that happening?! I'd tell you to Google instances of it happening, but the results page is filled with Mass Eff...

It's not the first time in history it's happened and it won't be the last. I couldn't care less if they change it or not, but it's still a poorly written ending. Regardless, after spending 60 dollars on a game and expecting writing quality on par with the past two entries, if the third game doesn't seem good enough then it's every consumer's right to complain. It Bioware's right to decide to cave in or tell them to shove off.

It's ...

I don't really care if the poster is really a Bioware employee or not, what he posted would have been a great ending.

I couldn't care less if they change the ending or not. I don't think the ending is horrible, but you can definitely tell it was rushed and poorly written.

Having said that, I wouldn't say a lot of the fans complaining are entitled. From what I've seen the ones complaining are the series' die-hard fans and they have a right to complain. They don't have the right to demand the ending be changed, but they definitely have a right to complain. The fact that ...

That's why it fit so perfectly in the Noir genre. The main characters aren't always likable and they are sometimes denied a subtle, "heroes" death. The good guys don't always win, and the bad guys, more often then not, are left unpunished.

I will agree that playing as Kelso was a bit of a misstep.

I felt it was still a thoroughly enjoyable game.

I absolutely loved Arkham Asylum, but I will definitely be waiting on this one. I have the strong feeling that they are going to absolutely drown people with DLC on this game. So, I'll wait a year and pick up the GOTY edition. I've finally been able to convince myself to stop buying games on day one and waiting until they become a bit cheaper.

It's not about having to "waste time looking for health packs", it's about forcing you to enter situations differently depending how much health you have. Also, I've played numerous games with the "health pack" system and they almost never make it hard to find one. So, I really doubt you're going to have to waste that much time making your character walk five feet to his left.

There was actually some looting a week or two after the disasters, but the Yakuza were actually patrolling the streets and cracking down on whatever little looting there was.

That's hilarious. Jason Alexander is great and that video perfectly sums up the debate and casts a light on these people's massive sense of entitlement.
